We have noticed an increase in students in grades 3–5 leaving school early during the instructional day. Early dismissals interrupt valuable learning time and can significantly impact your child’s academic progress.
Consistent attendance and full participation in the school day are essential for student success, particularly as we prepare for upcoming local, district, and state assessments. In order for students to perform at their best on the STAAR test, they must receive the full scope of daily instruction.
Beginning next week, we will begin tracking students who consistently leave school early. Parents of those students will be required to attend an administrative conference to discuss the impact of early dismissals and create a plan to support consistent attendance.
We appreciate your partnership in ensuring your child remains at school for the entire day, allowing them to benefit from all planned lessons and learning experiences. Together, we can help every student reach their full potential.
